Collect all your household hazardous waste and bring it to our event to dispose of it safely and for free in San Leandro on Sunday, October 20, 2024. To secure your spot, please make an appointment using the form below. The event address will be sent to you in the confirmation email. Space is limited, so we recommend registering early. This event is open to all Alameda County residents.

To book an appointment, select your language then select an available time, submit your information*, and click complete. We will send you an email confirmation with more details.

*Your information will be kept confidential and will only be used by Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste Program and StopWaste to improve our services and programming.

Prepare For Your Appointment

  • Pack your trunk. Place accepted materials in your trunk or back cargo space.
  • Have your driver's license ready. We will scan your license to verify Alameda County residency. If your driver’s license doesn't have an Alameda County address, please show proof of residency by bringing a recent utility bill or a copy of a rental or ownership agreement.
  • Stay in your vehicle. Our professional crew will unload and handle all the toxic materials, making it quick and easy for you. It's also state law. 
  • Alameda County residents only. Businesses cannot participate in these events; find information about business hazardous waste disposal.

  • Compressed gas cylinders other than propane
  • Large appliances (such as air conditioners, refrigerators, stoves, washers, etc.)
  • Construction and demolition waste
  • Smoke detectors
  • Explosives (such as ammunition, fireworks, marine flares, gunpowder)
  • Radioactives
