StopWaste Honors Six Alameda County Entities with Efficiency Awards
At a recognition event today, StopWaste celebrated the recipients of the 2022 StopWaste Efficiency Awards, given for outstanding achievements in waste reduction, community engagement, and environmental stewardship. This year, the winners included not only businesses but also nonprofits and an elementary school, reflecting the breadth of commitment in the county to a shared mission of long-term sustainability. In addition to resource efficiency through reuse, recycling, composting, and waste prevention, selection criteria also included each organization’s contributions to building partnerships in the community.
StopWaste Executive Director Timothy Burroughs praised the award winners for their achievements. "We are proud to recognize these six entities for their leadership in our communities. Each in their own industry, they understand what it takes to achieve long-term sustainability, putting people at the center and creating a culture of equity, partnership, and inclusiveness.
