The StopWaste Ambassador Program
Amplifying the Power of Environmental Leaders!
Help inspire and educate youth while amplifying existing youth-led solutions-based climate action projects throughout the school year.
The StopWaste Ambassador Project amplifies and supports youth voice and educational leaders throughout Alameda County and beyond to take action at home, at school, and in their community to reduce waste and educate their peers toward environmental stewardship. We seek to convene city, state and school district stakeholders working on sustainability initiatives, climate action plans and climate literacy with youth led initiatives.
As a cohort, SWAP participants will partake in a day of applied learning to support a particular city and school district's climate action initiatives and throughout the school year groups will work on their individual projects. Towards the end of the school year, we will reconvene to celebrate and share our accomplishments and lessons learned.
High school youth groups must apply with an adult ally or advisor and can participate in the program for up to two years. Qualifying group application considerations will be evaluated on a spectrum of action project reach and influence, youth leadership opportunities for learning and growth, and care for underserved and impacted communities at the intersections of waste.
