Four Alameda County Companies Recognized for Waste Reduction Excellence
At a recognition event this week, StopWaste acknowledged the recipients of the 2020 StopWaste Business Efficiency Awards, given for outstanding achievements in waste reduction. The winners—four companies from around Alameda County—represent a wide range of industries and were selected for their leadership in upstream waste prevention efforts through reuse, recycling, composting, and food waste prevention.
StopWaste Executive Director Wendy Sommer praised the award winners for their achievements. "We are so proud to recognize these businesses for their leadership in our communities. They have no doubt faced incredible challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but waste reduction and resource efficiency are still key principles of their operations. So, more than ever, we are pleased to share these awards."
