Hemming & simple rips
In this class students will learn how to fix simple rips and tears as well as learn how to hem a pair of pants both by creating a new hem as well as learning how to preserve an original hem. These techniques work with any style of pants, slacks, trousers, jeans, or even dungarees! This is an intermediate class; students should have some experience with hand sewing. All materials included.
Week 2: Weds, Jan 29, 6:30-8:30pm
Repairing a worn out seat
Got holes in your crotch? You're not alone! This common problem can happen to anyone, especially if they ride a bicycle. In this class students will learn how to reinforce a worn out pair of denim jeans from the inside out by creating new structure to reinforce or replace thin and missing fabric. This is an advanced class; students should be proficient in hand sewing. Bring your own jeans in need of repair.

Instructor Cirrus Wood is a self-taught artisan who enjoys coming up with and learning fun designs to make clothing more visually appealing and more durable. He runs his own mending and tailoring business 'Muzhik' - named for the Russian word for peasant, but a muzhik is also someone resourceful, someone who can be relied upon to come up with a creative fix.
