ReportsStopWaste partnered with Healthy Building Network and the San Francisco Department of the Environment to investigate ways to enhance the quality of post-consumer recycled-content raw materials (or “feedstock”) used in the manufacturing of building products.
On October 22, 2015, StopWaste hosted a half-day workshop focused on best practices in meeting and implementing C&D recycling in Alameda County and the Bay Area. Presenters shared their experiences with achieving high diversion rates on building projects seeking to meet code, attain LEED certification, or targeting zero waste.

The chiropractic values of living holistically align with environmental values, which motivated the Sustainability Council at Life Chiropractic College West located in Hayward to pursue certification through the Alameda County Green Business Program. The Program’s comprehensive framework and hands-on assistance appealed to the Council and made working towards environmental sustainability manageable and concrete.

Jean Marie, LEED AP certified since 2004, designed the studio with students’ health and well-being in mind and was excited to incorporate LEED concepts into the studio’s construction.
