StopWaste partnered with Healthy Building Network and the San Francisco Department of the Environment to investigate ways to enhance the quality of post-consumer recycled-content raw materials (or “feedstock”) used in the manufacturing of building products. A series of reports summarize our findings and recommendations for optimizing recycled-content feedstocks in order to increase product value, marketability and safety. Audiences for the reports are product manufacturers, major purchasers of building products, government agencies, and the recycling industry. 

On October 22, 2015, StopWaste hosted a half-day workshop focused on best practices in meeting and implementing C&D recycling in Alameda County and the Bay Area. Presenters shared their experiences with achieving high diversion rates on building projects seeking to meet code, attain LEED certification, or targeting zero waste. Attendees included builders, contractors, facility operators, designers, and city & county officials.  The audio recording and presentations may be downloaded here.

Bay Area LISC's Green O&M Guide contains a toolkit for selecting green products, including paint, cleaning products, flooring and carpet, and lighting.

NOTE:  The "GreenPoint Rated" system, developed by Build It Green, is an updated rating and guideline system for new construction and upgrade/remodeling projects.  More information is available at the Build It Green website.
