Fortunately, all residents in single-family homes in Alameda County have at least one curbside bulky waste pickup available annually, as part of their normal waste collection services.

Have students apply their knowledge and skills to make a difference in stopping waste in your community! Your students will investigate and address real environmental issues at your school and put the 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot) into practice! Student Action Project curriculum and themes support Common Core English and Mathematics standards and the Next Generation Science Standards.
The Stop Food Waste Challenge is an educational program designed by StopWaste to engage Alameda County students and educators in the practice and benefits of proper waste sorting and reducing the amount of food going to waste in the landfill. The Challenge also aims to restore the importance of food as sustenance and introduces students to the food recovery hierarchy.
